Much to the disappointment to March Madness Sportsbook fans, Purdue senior forward Robbie Hummel was ruled out of the upcoming basketball season with after he tore anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee once again.
Hummel, who also suffered a torn ACL in his right knee last February 24 and sat out the remainder of the campaign, suffered another injury during practice on Saturday. Purdue was devastated with the news. Hummel’s absence would definitely affect their college basketball gambling odds.
It is not the first time that Hummel has hurt himself at the wrong time for Purdue. He was Purdue's second-leading scorer when he was hurt last February. He averaged 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in 27 games last season, and was the team's top three-point threat.
At that time, Hummel’s absence cost Purdue quite a lot. The Boilermakers were 24-3, when Hummel was injured, and finished 29-6 with a loss to Duke in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
College basketball sportsbook are not optimistic from Purdue, but it will be interesting to see whether Purdue will be able to cope up with his absence.
